Where to Eat – Big Sky Mountain Village
The Mountain Village has so many great places to eat – Pizza, fine dining, Italian, American and more. Located at the base of the Big Sky Resort. You can walk to any of the restaurants except the Dinner Yurt which requires you to get transported to a secret location on Lone Mountain. All are casual – feel free to come in on your way back from skiing or fly-fishing.
Located at Big Sky Resort, The Montana Dinner Yurt offers an intimate and unique backcountry dining experience you will not soon forget. Nestled in the woods on the flanks of Lone Peak, our warm and cozy candlelit dinner yurt is accessed by snowcat and serves an indulging and savory meal in a casually elegant atmosphere.
Our chef has perfected a delicious three-course meal cooked in our kitchen tent located adjacent to the yurt. The exquisite dinner is served in courses and starts with a hearty baked French onion soup with fresh warm bread, followed by our main course consisting of a tender filet mignon with peppercorn sauce (some say it cuts with a spoon!), garlic mashed potatoes, and sautéed veggies (main course served family-style), and finishes with warm Toblerone chocolate fondue with fresh fruit and pound cake for dessert.

Curly and Kelly Shea, owners and proprietors of The Cabin, have lived and worked in Big Sky for over 30 years. Curly owned and operated The First Place Restaurant in meadow village for 17 years, and welcomed the opportunity to relocate to the mountain village with The Cabin Bar & Grill in 2003. Always a favorite of both locals and visitors alike, his restaurants are held in high regard, and welcome back returning guests time and again.
Our culinary team takes pride in blending contemporary and classic techniques with local and regional ingredients for a unique flair in Rocky Mountain Cuisine.
