Nordic Skiing – Echo Lake Trails
Georgetown Lake is located half way between Philipsburg and Anaconda, Montana along Scenic Highway 1. At 6,337 ft. elevation, this area gets plenty of snow for winter recreation. Head toward Discovery Basin Ski Area and follow the signs for either of the two Echo Lake Trail Heads. One Trail Head is accessed by the parking lot near the Anaconda lift at Discovery Basin Ski Area. The “Midway” Trail Head is approximately 1/4 mile before Discovery Basin Ski Area. Echo Lake Trail Association encourages users to park at the “Midway” Trail Head. This parking area gives users access to both the Cable Trails and the Echo Lake Trails with ample parking available.
The Echo Lake Trails and the Cable Trails offer terrain for the novice to the accomplished.
The Echo Lake Trail Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of winter and summer opportunities involving all ages. Trails are groomed regularly based on snow conditions, please see updated Nordic trail report. The trails are now being groomed thanks to some grants and donations! Please keep the fun alive by donating online.
Cross Country Ski Rentals are available in the Discovery Rental Shop for $15 per day.
