Cooke City & Silver Gate, Montana
Cooke City & Silver Gate are two of the smallest towns in Montana and are the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park. If you are traveling from Red Lodge to Yellowstone National Park you will experience driving for the Beartooth Highway which has been described as “one of the most beautiful drives in America” by Charles Kuralt. Entering Yellowstone from Cooke City lands you in the Lamar Valley with some of the best fly fishing and an opportunity to view wolves, grizzly bears. elk, antelope, fox, eagles, osprey and more. It is a good idea to have binoculars and/or a spotting scope as wolves and grizzly are generally a ways off.
