Getting There: Philipsburg is 50 west of Butte, and 90 miles east of Missoula. From I-90 you have two options. If you are traveling west, take the exit to Philipsburg/Opportunity/Anaconda. This is Scenic Highway 1 where you will travel through Anaconda, known for its Jack Nicklaus designed Old Works Golf Course. On to Georgetown Lake where you can boat, hike, jet ski, mountain bike, or ski in winter. Continuing through the Flint Creek Valley lined with hay and cattle ranches to Philipsburg where you will find Back Street Pottery, restaurants, and hotels. Drummond is the where Highway 1 intersects with I-90. Simply reverse the itinerary when traveling east.
