Description: This hike is relatively moderate with such a big reward once you reach the lookout point which offers amazing views of the surrounding mountain ranges. You will hike in and out of heavily treed ares making this is a good hike for warm days. For the first 1.5 miles, you follow Cinnamon Creek until you reach the junction to the observation point. Overall, the first 4-miles is a steady climb until you reach the summit. The trail is a combination of trees followed by open meadows. In July and August expect to see the meadows with wildflowers such as Lupine, Yellow Monkey Flower, Mountain Bluebells, and Wild Blue Flax. As you climb in elevation look for the Indian Paintbrush with its distinctive red color. Once you arrive at the junction of Cinnamon Meadow turn right and take in the amazing view of Sphinx Mountain to the west. Once you see the lookout station you will be a short distance to the summit.
If you have a topography map and a compass you will be able to identify the Taylors and Hilgards to the south, the Absaroka Mountains to the east, and the Tobacco Roots and Gravellys to the west, and the Spanish Peaks to the north.
