Granite County Museum
The Granite County Museum and Cultural Center gives a look at the history of Granite County, Montana. Through exhibits and education. One of the richest silver strikes in our country helped to shape life in Granite County in the 1860’s. The museum has a replica of the underground mine, depicting the everyday life of the miner.
The museum is located in the old Courtney Hotel building on South Sansome Street in Philipsburg, Montana. The entire first floor of the hotel was remodeled for display space, a gift shop, and a community center. It also houses the Ghost Town Hall of Fame, a tribute to the ghost towns in Montana. There are 20 ghost towns within 30 miles of Philipsburg.
The museum is open every afternoon in the summer. In the winter, you can see the museum by appointment.
